The inside details of an AR Jacket || Warning: Does not come with flower
AR is a brand stemmed from Hawaii's own Aloha Rag designed by store owner, Tatsugo Yoda. It debuted in Fall 2010 under their eponymous name Aloha Rag, but have since transitioned to a simplified AR. The basis of the then in-house label was to create day-to-day basics while using luxe fabrics/details for an understandable elevated casual. I remember when the first collection came out and I saw a crisp new leather jacket. It was a traditional motorcycle jacket with a cotton lining and the leather was buttery soft, but the deciding factor of my eventual purchase of it was the fit. I've narrow shoulders and my chest is quite small, but their 'Small' was perfect for me!
Fast forward to the present, AR is now internationally stocked in doors in California to New York to Italy to Japan! I think the AR team truly understands quality, fit, wearability, and considering the fact they're one of the most renowned retailers in the world it's hard not to see why they would venture out into their own label.

Here's one of my most recent purchases; AR's S/S Jacket in Navy (it's on SALE now at www.aloharag.com). I picked up an XS and while the shoulders fit perfectly, I decided to narrow in the sleeve and take in the back with my tailor. Ever since I picked it up after the alterations, I'm completely obsessed with it. I want to wear it everyday! The fabric is great, made in Japan, is partially unlined (perfect for transeasonal wear), and is virtually wrinkle free. I can actually be seen wearing the jacket in the post below (CLICK HERE) and in my profile picture. I think I'm going to live in AR every single day.
Here's a B&W picture of the 'Aloha Rag' leather jacket I bought two years ago. I'll probably do a post on it when it comes the time to wear it. 2 years later and it's still going strong. Quality > Quantity.
